Who is Believers Church?

Identity

Believers Church is a non-denominational, missional church in Johnson City, Tennessee. There are four core values that define us: Formation, Community, Servanthood, and Multiplication. Below, we offer further explanation of what we mean by this. But the easiest way to get to know who we are is to join us for a Sunday Gathering, or join one of our Community Groups.

We’ve been called to help broken people become devoted followers of Jesus. We believe this is accomplished in four ways:

Formation (to become students of Jesus)

The gospels reveal a direct relationship between formative disciplines like Scripture, prayer, fasting, worship, silence and solitude, giving, and the active life of being “sent.” We seek to fuse the two of these, making full disciples.

Community (to follow Jesus together)

Believers Church is part of the universal church, our local church, and we also need intimate relationships. This is why our Community Groups are a fundamental part of who we are. God is relational and so are we.

Servanthood (to love others like Jesus)

We believe serving others is critical for the work of missionary evangelism – this manifests itself through being the hands and feet of Jesus among those living on the margins, outside of the Church. This is an essential part of kingdom living.

Multiplication (to increase the Jesus following movement)

We are not seeking to build one large church. Instead, we’ve been called to infuse gospel movement through sending. This means that our desire is to spread and scatter the story of Jesus to other communities that are in need of redemption and restoration.
